MEET KATIE

Katie Maxwell Prevatt was born in Columbia, SC, a daughter of Holland Ray Prevatt and his wife Katheryn Madera Smith. She comes from a long line of folks who devoted their lives to serving our country. Her father was in the Army, and both grandfathers served in World War Two.

Katie was graduated from Dreher High School in 1995, as a NJROTC Plank owner. (She was one of the student founders of the NJROTC program there.) She was continuing her education at Piedmont Tech when her mother became seriously ill, and Katie left school to care for her for some time and nursed her back to health. In 1995, Katie married and devoted her life to the care of her two sons. She was very active in her sons' schools, volunteering every day, and became a teachers' assistant, eventually working closely with special needs children. She took courses in American Sign Language in order to be able to communicate with her non verbal students. She was also a Cub Scout Den Leader and Assistant Scoutmaster, from 2006 to 2015. Her first marriage ended in divorce, and in 2007, she married Edward Allen "Pete" Hall, of the US Army, who adopted her two sons.  Katie and Pete are members of the Saluda Church of God. Pete is the DAV Commander for Chapter 37 in Saluda. Katie and Pete are active in the Veteran community as well as in the community of Saluda.

Katie lives in Saluda with Pete, and her mother for whom she still acts as caregiver. Their oldest son lives is a Certified Farrier and Blacksmith. Their youngest son is serving in the US Army as a pilot. He is married and presented Katie and Pete with her first grandchild, in September. Katie is fond of saying "I am a granddaughter of the Army and Navy, married to the Army and now an Army Mom." She has devoted her life to serving her country, her community, her family and God.

Katie is a Christian, South Carolinian, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Caregiver, Teacher, Leader, Pro God, Pro Life, Pro Constitution.
